Leo gets a job, but it's in London. Peggy seems to be ill. Tony has a business idea. Pam's hair salon is infested with rats.
Opening Leo's mail Pam is shocked to find that he is planning to marry Judy in secret, though she keeps it to herself, despite Peggy accidentally finding out. At the opening of Tony's café, a less than successful event, the news becomes public, thanks to Judy's trans friend from her support group Charlie whilst Jackie also believes she has found Mr Right with pest controller Dean despite his divorce not being finalised and his disbelief that Judy was born a man.
Leo gets a job as a dispatch rider for free-drinking prankster Kat whilst James gets unwelcome news from Anji following their one night stand - only to find that she is teaching him a lesson. Pam agrees to accommodate the homeless Charlie for two nights though he proves to be a demanding guest. Pam and Tony also host Peggy for dinner - which Pam sees as a chore - and Tony's cooking does not help, but the evening is saved by Peggy's honesty.
The two families prepare for the wedding with Peggy planning to bake a cake based on Colditz. Pam is not happy with the idea of a registry office as the venue and a down-market pub for the reception and coerces Leo into looking at a superior hotel, though the price is exorbitant and Pam has cause to be grateful to Jackie in helping her to back out, to the happy couple's relief. Back home Charlie explains to a puzzled Dean all about transgender-ism, using baking accessories as examples.
As the wedding looms Judy's hen night and Leo's stag party, with his boss Kat invited, go ahead. James' plan for a booze-up in Poland goes awry so Kat decides to bring Poland to Newcastle, which proves a success, but the hen party suffers from a row between Pam and Anji until it is saved by a lie from Jackie - and a food fight. Both groups end up at Peggy's house, where she cooks up a storm but Anji and James fail to divert attention from what has passed between them.
