Young & Hungry is an American situation comedy television series that is currently airing on the ABC Family channel. The sitcom was created by David Holden (Shake It Up!, The War at Home) who also serves as an executive producer for the series along with Ashley Tisdale (Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch), John Ziffren (Switched at Birth), Caryn Lucas (Happily Divorced), Jessica Rhoades (Your Place or Mine?) and Eric Tannenbaum (Two and a Half Men). Season 1 of Young & Hungry premiered on the ABC Family channel on June 25, 2014.
The storyline of Young & Hungry revolves around a wealthy young tech entrepreneur Josh Kaminski (portrayed by Jonathan Sadowski; Live Free or Die Hard), who hires a feisty young food blogger named Gabi Diamond (portrayed by Emily Osment; Hannah Montana) to be his new personal chef. Desperate to keep her new job, Gabi wants to prove her skills to Josh and his personal aide, publicist and right-hand-man Elliot Park (portrayed by Rex Lee; Entourage), who would rather hire a celebrity chef for the job. Young & Hungry is loosely based on food blogger Gabi Moskowitz’s life in San Francisco. The series also stars Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley, Jesse McCartney and Mallory Jansen. Young & Hungry was nominated for 2014 Teen Choice Awards as Choice Summer TV Show and 2015 People’s Choice Awards as Favorite Cable TV Comedy.
On September 29, 2014, Young & Hungry was officially renewed for a second season. Season 2 of Young & Hungry premiered on the ABC Family channel on March 25, 2015.
