Thailand’s True Vision is remaking “Autumn in my Heart” a Korean drama, that started the careers of ”Song Seung-Heon”, “Song Hye-Kyo” and the charming” Won-Bin”. It’s a classic K-drama of fate, family drama, love triangle, forbidden love, sickness and the daunting end of life.
It starts out when there is a mixed up at the hospital, the name tags of both babies fall out, it is than accidental switched, forever changing the lives of all involved. Many years later, as a teenager, Song Hye-Ko’s character is involved in an accident, she finds out that her blood type is not the same as her parents, and both characters are than switched back to their own biological family. The family than leaves for the States, leaving Song Hye-Kyo behind. She’s endures a life where her biological mother never really accepts her, and a poor life without much prospects. Into her adult years, she works at a hotel as a maid where she meets Won Bin’s character, who is quickly head over heels in love with her. Remember this is the guy who has everything, he is filthy rich, good looking, charming , kind-hearted and giving everything a girl could ever want. He than tells his best friend who is Song Seung-Heon that he a has met “the One”. The long-lost “siblings” finally are reunited after so many years apart. Although they are happy to see other, for some odd reason, they have feelings for each other that they shouldn’t have. Their forbidden love gets on the fast track, hurting many in the process. Fast forward later in the series Song Hye-Kyo finds out that she has leukemia, beginning the end for a tragic ending.
I found their “love” for one another rather applauding, who has feelings for their siblings? I mean they grew up together as siblings all the way up til their young teenage years. And although they are not blood related they still grew up together as brother and sister. What was most sad and so tragic about this drama was the fact that she never loved Won Bin’s character, I found that I cried for him throughout the whole series and not for her. He did everything he could possible do for her, and who could resist such a charming, handsome and romantic man? As for her “brother” he did NOTHING for her the entire series lol, all he gave her was love that was very weak. Let’s see how the Thai’s do for this series. Who will we root for in this version? I know in the Korean version it was all about Won Bin.
