通（高飞）之妻朱爱玲（玄智慧）红杏出墙，搭上赌场常客方明（徐少强）。一日，朱与方争执后独自离去，却被流氓挟往荒屋施暴，朱极力反抗，终堕楼惨死。周受一股神秘力量引导，发现朱尸首，蒙胧间，闻鬼语遣其往找巫师设法报仇。自始怪事接连发生，所有与其之死有关的人均遭鬼怪缠扰……
所谓“种鬼”，就是降头邪术中的一种，利用活人与死人交配，然后寄种于活人身上，产下一个类似于异形的怪胎，用于复仇之用。胎儿的存活需以活人的精血养活，胎儿出世后，种鬼之人也是精血尽丧，气绝身亡的，所以非有深仇大恨之人，是不会选择这种歹毒自杀的邪术的。 [3]
