On December 9, 2011, Showcase announced that Lost Girl had been renewed for Season 3, set to begin production in Summer 2012. 13 episodes were ordered. Whether it will be extended to 22 episodes has not been announced.
Rachel Skarsten will join the cast as Dyson 's new partner Tamsin.

Apparently leaving the crew will be series creator Michele Lovretta . Instead writer Emily Andras will take over as showrunner. Lovretta is not listed in the Season 3 press release from Prodigy Pictures, which produces the show. Instead Andras joined original executive producer Jay Firestone. Season 3 is now to be aired January 2013.
