Special operation section chief Jai Wilcox is killed by a car bomb after a meeting with Annie, who is a prime suspect as it's unclear why she wasn't with him. Director Arthur Campbell doesn't even conult wife Joan before promoting Auggie to Jai's post, expecting him to report directly on possible motives for Jai's killing. Annie is also tranferred, to successful maverick Lena Smith's section. Her firt mission is to track down KGB-son Simon Fischer, suspect of the killing of three German 'tourists' in Morocco, which requires sexual intimacy.
