36 year old journalist Yoshiko Gondawara (Ryoko Shinohara) covers human interest stories with a twist. She's frequently thought of as the best journalist at drawing tears from her audience. Meanwhile, Yoshiko's home life is a wreck. For 11 years she obsessed with work while her husband took care of domestic duties at home. Recently her husband ran away from home and the pair eventually divorced. Yoshiko is now responsible for her two young boys or rather the two young boys are now responsible for their home. Eldest son Saki (Shintaro Morimoto) is far more adept than his mother at household chores.
Yoshiko then is assigned to cover a case involving a missing 5 year old boy. The missing boy's mother Hideko (Naho Toda) is a recent divorcee like Yoshiko herself. Yoshiko at first finds Hideko to have a blank face, but is eventually able to get through. While researching the case, Yoshiko discovers that Hideko's ex-husband kidnapped the 5 year old boy. Just when Yoshiko thought the case was closed, something else happens ...
